A review checklist for AI drafts.
Treat every AI draft as a draft. Give it one owner, check the facts apart from the prose, and hold it back from export, delivery or signature until someone has checked the decisions that matter.
Updated
Review in five passes
Give each document one accountable owner. Then check it in this order.
- Source: does the draft match the brief and the references you approved?
- Facts: are the parties, dates, amounts, locations, governing law and obligations right?
- Wording: did the draft add promises, exclusions, remedies or claims you didn’t approve?
- File: are page breaks, tables, the letterhead and signer fields right in the final format?
- Delivery: are the recipients, permissions and signing method right?
Escalate by consequence
Bring in legal, HR, tax, finance, privacy or security review when a document creates real obligations, affects someone’s job, moves money or touches sensitive data. Keep the reviewer’s name with the template.
Before you rely on this
- This is a general checklist, not professional advice or a compliance standard.
- A finished checklist can’t fix wrong source information.
