From page to PDF.
Export the document in the format the next person needs. The PDF keeps your page design. A DOCX gives them an editable Word file. Markdown keeps the structure for tools that don’t care about layout.
Three formats, three jobs
Pick PDF when the layout matters, DOCX when someone will keep editing, and Markdown when the text is headed into another system.
- The PDF renders from the same page geometry as the editor.
- DOCX maps headings, lists, tables and page settings to Word.
- Markdown keeps the structure and leaves the page design behind.
Open it before you send it
Fonts, long tables and signer fields can shift between formats, and Word repaginates a DOCX by its own rules. Open the file you’re about to send, especially when the layout carries meaning.
What it doesn’t do yet
- The ChatGPT and Claude connectors can’t export a PDF. They return a link to the document, and you export it there.
- A DOCX can paginate differently in different versions of Word.
